A variety of internal business procedures are used to move employees, their families, and/or entire departments of a company to a new location. These procedures are referred to as relocation services, employee relocation, military Permanent Change of Station (PCS), or workforce mobility. These procedures are typically managed by human resources personnel within a firm, just like other kinds of employee perks. The Personal Property Shipping Office (PPSO) and Transportation Management Office (TMO) are responsible for overseeing these procedures in the military.

Domestic residential services, which are used when an employee relocates within a nation or state, as well as international relocation services, which include planning for diplomats, managers, etc. working overseas, are examples of such business operations. The relocation process is managed and directed by a company that offers relocation services. This includes obtaining the required paperwork (visa, permit for long-term stay), locating new housing, and more.
